Ezekiel 10
God’s Glory #2
In this chapter we see the glory of the Lord which appeared to Ezekiel. He saw the four living creatures with their four faces and their four wings. We see a re-appearance of the wheels with the eyes all over it too.
What I would like to look at is what verse 4 says, “And the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub to the threshold of the house, and the house was filled with brightness of the glory of the Lord.” In Isaiah 6:4 says, “And the foundations of the thresholds shook and the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.” Both Ezekiel and Isaiah saw the glory of the Lord in the temple. Both were an awe inspiring and very humbling experience.
In chapter one we looked at that the glory of the Lord is not just his radiance but his perfection, his holiness revealed. In all instances of the glory of the Lord we see people always going to their faces. It could be because it is so bright but it also could be as Isaiah says in 6:5 after he sees his glory, “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people with unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” When we think about the glory of the Lord we should see our wretchedness, how unworthy we are and how holy and awesome God is. Think about God’s glory and maybe some other places in Scripture that talks about his glory. Feel free to respond.
Blessings!
