CRUX Daily: Life of Moses Part 2
Read: Exodus 19
Reflect: The Lord said to Moses, “tell the people that if they obey my voice and keep my covenant, they will be my treasured possession and Holy nation.” What was the answer the people of Israel gave to Moses and the Lord in verse 8?
Request (Prayer): Lord, help me to be obedient in all that you are calling me to do.
How did the Israelites respond in this statement made to them by Moses on behalf of God? They said collectively, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” That’s a great answer to have when God tells you something so profound. If the people keep the covenant of God, they will become God’s treasured possession. Did you know that when you come to Christ and acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior of your life, you become a child of God. You also become His treasured possession as well.
You are so precious to God that He willingly sent His only Son into the world to save you! Did you know that?! He had joy when He went to the cross because He knew what He was going to accomplish, yet at the same time it was the most pain He had ever had to experience, but He did that all for you and for me.
Do you take for granted the things that God has done for you? I do! How can we be thankful for what God has done for us? How can we be appreciative of all that He has done and is doing for us? One way we can do that is by keeping His commandments, yes the 10 commandments, but also by 2 others that He encourages us to hold to, 1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. 2. Love your neighbor as yourself. When you do those 2 things, you are obeying all the things that God wants us to remember.
