CRUX Daily: School Armor
Read: Ephesians 6:10-20
Reflect: What does Paul tell us about spiritual battles? Do you face spiritual battles at school? Give some examples of battles you have faced or that your friends have faced.
Request (Prayer): Lord, I want to be ready for the spiritual battles I will face at school. Help me to put on all the armor of God.
When the enemy attacks you, do you think that is an attack for your body physically or an attack on your soul? A better question to ask would be, “Does satan want to hurt you physically and beat you up, or does he want you to deny God and follow him?” The answer is definitely that Satan wants to attack your soul, and wants you to be taken into the pit of hell with him.
Satan will do whatever it takes for you to go down with him. He knows his time is coming to an end here on earth and so he is in the world deceiving people by making them captive to the traps that he sets in front of us. In fact the Bible even tells us that we do not fight against flesh and blood but against demons and the powers of darkness. If that’s the case then are we to put on an armor physically that will keep us from being injured or should we put on an armor that will not be broken?
We’ve heard so many different messages on how we as believers need to put the armor of God on so we can withstand the attacks of the devil, and more so than ever, the armor needs to be put on now! Many people are forsaking God to follow after something they want. Will you fall victim or will you rise against Satan and destroy him?
Better yet, how will you stand against the attacks that you will face from the people at your school? It’s not a matter of IF people will make fun of you, but it is a matter of WHEN they do, how will you react? Yes you are going to be called a “Jesus Freak”, yes you are going to be called “One of them”, but that is not a reason for you to just give up on what you believe in, it is a time for you to stand your ground and stand up for Jesus.
When the Roman soldiers hung Jesus to the cross and mocked Him, Jesus didn’t back down and nor should we when we face trials like that. If Jesus can stand for you don’t you think you should stand for Him?
