CRUX Daily: Do All to the Glory of God

Read: 1 Corinthians 10:31

Reflect: What does “do all to the glory of God” mean for our friendships? How can you glorify God with your friends? (give 3 examples).

Request (Prayer): Lord, I want my friendships to glorify You. Help me and my friends to do that.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” All things that we do, and all people that we come in contact with should cause us to glorify God. Examine, for a second, the friendships you have. Think of the friends you hang out with at school and in your neighborhood. Now ask yourself the question, “Is what we talk about and what we do, glorify God?”

I’m not saying that this whole concept of glorifying God in all we say and do is easy, but it is something that we should discipline ourselves to do. Why? Well for one it pleases God and second, because it will help better your life and it will bring you closer to God.

How can you glorify God with your friends? There are many ways that you can do that. What are a few ways you can? What kind of music do you listen to with your friends? What jokes do you tell your friends? When you talk about other people, does it become gossip or does it become a time of encouragement?

Think of it this way; if God were with you and your friends, would you be able to listen to the same music? Would you be able to tell God your jokes? Would you slander other people and make fun of them in front of God? The chances are that you probably wouldn’t. SO then, how do you change what you are doing that doesn’t please God, and how do you start pleasing Him? Have the mindset of knowing that whatever you do, you should do to the glory of God!
