Worship Jesus
Read: Genesis 3:15; John 3:16
Reflect: A great reason to worship God is because of His Son. How do you think God felt sending His only Son to die?
Request: Thank God for His love for you.
In Matthew 22 we read about how Jesus answered one of the religious leaders question. His question was, “What is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus’ answer shows us the core of what should motivate us. He said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.”
We love God and worship God because of who He is and not only that but we worship God because of His Son! Worship can also be said as worthship. What do you value, or what has worth to you. That is what you worship. We were created to worship and we do worship but the what is the question. Think throughout your day of what captivates your attention, what gets your focus and your thoughts, what is it? We can worship Jesus because He is worthy of the praise. He is more valuable than any item you have ever possessed. He is better than any other relationship. Worship Jesus!
Jesus took our sin, paid the price for our rebellion, bought us with his blood on the cross! Jesus received the punishment for our wrongdoing. The Bible tells us that we need to believe with our hearts in Jesus and confess with our mouths that He is Lord that we will be saved (Romans 10:9). To know that even though I do not deserve salvation, that love, causes me to worship. To know that I do not deserve forgiveness for all my wrongdoings is amazing and causes me to worship. I do not have to repay any of it, so how do I show my appreciation? By my worship! I do that with my mouth shouting praise, by my actions of obedience and by my desire to read God’s word, and by my face on the ground knowing nothing is better than worshiping the KING! Worship Jesus!
