CRUX Daily: Looking for Your Future Spouse

Read: Ephesians 5:26-27

Reflect: Marriage is an awesome and serious commitment that the Lord established with Adam & Eve. One of the ways you can be prepared for marriage now is by praying for your future spouse. In what ways can you pray for your future spouse?

Request (Prayer): Pray for your future spouse.

We, as humans, long and desire to be in a relationship. That’s how we were designed, that’s how we were created. We were created to share this special bond between, one man and one woman, known as marriage.

Marriage is a sacred thing. It is not suppose to be taken lightly either. God established marriage to an eternal covenant, and the world thinks that marriage is just something you do, and when you don’t love that person anymore, you move on to the next one, and so on and so forth.

As a believer of Jesus Christ, we need to understand the importance of who we marry and what our marriage, in due time, should look like.

God has designed marriage as a forever relationship, which means that the person you marry the first time should be the person you marry for the last time as well. We should only be married once, because God hates divorce. We should work through the problems, after all, the vows people make say, “For better or for worse, in sickness and in health,” because regardless of the circumstance, marriage is suppose to be a joint effort at glorifying God through the relationship.

Reflect: An unloving husband is a disgrace and a man who’s prayers are hindered. What are some of the key characteristics of a godly husband?

Prayer: (Guys) Pray that God would prepare you to be a godly and loving husband. (Girls) Pray that God would prepare your future husband to be godly and loving.

Yesterday we looked at praying for them to love Jesus more than any other relationship in this life. When one does that, that will be the only way they can be the best husband or wife. (more…)

Reflect: This is a good example of how a wife must be towards her husband. What are some of the key characteristics of a godly wife?

Request: (Girls) Ask the Lord to help you prepare to be a godly wife. (Guys) Pray that God would prepare your future wife to be godly.

It does not matter if you are a guy or a girl the goal should be the same for your future spouse. Marriage is the one commitment that is life long in this life. It is sad but many people do not take it that serious but you can actually start now by asking the Lord to prepare you and your future spouse for marriage.

This may sound crazy! Yes, we want you to pray for someone you may not even know who they are but they do exist. Why should you start praying for them now? (more…)

Reflect: many young people want to be in a relationship so bad that they make that their main focus. What should your focus always be on?

Request (Prayer): Father, help me to seek first Your Kingdom.

Have you ever lost something precious to you and could not find it for the life of you? It is such a frustrating thing when you lost something so valuable or something that means a lot to you. And what do we normally end up doing? We search day and night, high and low until we have finally found what we are looking for.

Something that means a lot to us, is something that we will always keep close to us and we won’t allow it to get far from our sight.

Reflect: How can you remain pure?

Request (Prayer): Lord, give me strength to remain pure.

Why is it so important for us to remain pure? Well, for one, it keeps us from sinning. Another reason we should want to be pure is so that we please God. The whole scheme of things is understanding that we as humans are sinners, in need of a Savior, to cleanse us of our sin and to rid of all the impurities we have in our life.
