2013 Winter Retreat
Our Winter Camp is right around the corner, and we’ve have just announced that our theme for this year’s retreat is…UNLEASHED!
We’ve taken the theme from Hebrews 12:1-2 which says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (ESV)”
Our desire as a church, and as a ministry is to see people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The only way that can happen is by believing in your heart, and confessing with your mouth that He is Lord, and by laying aside the weight of sin that tries to take our focus off of living for God.
To be “unleashed” is to break the chains that hold a person bondage to sin. And only when a person is “unleashed”, can they run the race that is set before them, and only when they are “unleashed” can they look to Jesus at the finish line waiting to congratulate them at the end to say, “Well done, thy good & faithful servant, enter into the presence of God.”
